Mediterranean diet pyramidThe Mediterranean diet is considered to be one of the healthiest in the world. Mediterranean cuisine is a lifestyle change to a healthier way of life, it's the food from the countries bordering the Mediterranean sea.



The Mediterranean is divided into three culinary regions:
  • North African (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia)
  • Eastern Mediterranean (Egypt, Greece, Israel, Palestine, Libya, Lebanon, Syria, and Turkey)
  • Southern European (Italy, French, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Portugal 

It is known that people who live this lifestyle, are less likely to develop high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease or obesity. 

The food is delicious and uses an abundance of fruits, vegetables and olive oil. Flavors are robust and clear (No complicated sauces, heavy cream or butter) With the enormous variety of recipes and foods, you will never be bored.

The most prevalent fat used in Mediterranean cooking is olive oil. 
It is used in the preparation of most baked, roasted, sautéed and grilled dishes. Greens are served fresh and drizzled with olive oil.

Mediterranean cuisine is about a specific cooking method based on simple preparations, extra virgin olive oil and slow cooking which enhances the flavors. 

You don't need to have meat on the table everyday, you can make equally delicious meals when preparing Mediterranean cuisine.
